Score Your Business — Free
The Score My Business assessment lets anyone measure their business across the six FORTIS pillars — the same diagnostic advisors use with their clients — without creating an account first. You only need three numbers to get scored: your revenue, your operating expenses, and your cash balance. Everything else is optional. Your assessment is saved and attaches to your new account automatically when you start a trial, so nothing is retyped. 💡 Tip — Who can use this Anyone — no account required for the assessment itself. Creating an account (14-day free trial, no card) unlocks the full unblurred report inside the app. Quick reference | Step | Action | | ---- | ----- | | 1 | Open the Score My Business page | | 2 | Tell us about your business | | 3 | Enter your three required numbers | | 4 | Add what you know, skip what you don't | | 5 | Review and submit | | 6 | Read your score and what it couldn't assess | | 7 | Claim your full report | Step 1: Open the Score My Business page Visit the Score My Business page on the Fortis Pulse website. You'll see what the assessment covers and the six pillars it measures: Focus, Intelligence, Results, Transformation, Operations, and Systems. No sign-in is needed. Score My Business landing page Step 2: Tell us about your business Click Start Assessment. The assessment runs in eight short steps and always scores your most recent complete month (shown at the top — for example "Scoring period: July 2026"). The first step asks what kind of business you run and how long you've been in business — your industry shapes how we read your answers. 📝 Note — You can close the tab and come back Your answers are saved on this device as you go. When you return, you'll be asked whether to resume where you left off or start over. About your business step Step 3: Enter your three required numbers The Money Basics step asks for the only three required fields — numbers every owner knows offhand: - Total Revenue — total sales or income earned this period, before any costs. - Operating Expenses — everything it costs to run the business: payroll, rent, supplies. - Operating Cash Balance — money readily available in your operating accounts. Each field has an (i) icon you can hover for a plain-language explanation, and amount fields format large numbers with thousand separators as you type. If you have recurring subscription or contract revenue, there's also a Monthly Recurring Revenue field right after these — leave it blank if it doesn't apply to your business. Money basics step with the three required fields Step 4: Add what you know, skip what you don't The next three steps — money details, your team, and operations — are all optional. You have three ways to answer any field: - Type an exact number if you know it. - Tap a range (like "6–20" or "Under a week") if you only have a rough idea — we'll score it as an estimate. - Tap "I don't track this" if you don't currently measure that number. ❗ Important — "I don't track this" is a useful answer, not a mistake Tapping "I don't track this" simply tells Fortis you don't measure that number today. It is not counted as zero and never hurts your score — in fact, "you don't track customer retention" is exactly the kind of finding the diagnostic is designed to surface, and it's often the first thing an advisor helps you fix. 📝 Note — You can submit with optional fields empty None of the optional fields block your submission — you can leave them blank and still get your score. Filling them in gives you a more comprehensive score, so we encourage completing everything you can, but partial answers are always welcome. Optional step showing range pills and the I don't track this option Step 5: Review and submit The final step shows your answers grouped in sections — about your business, money basics, money details, your team, operations, your priorities, and any improvements you're working on. Each section has an Edit button that jumps straight back to that part if something needs fixing. When everything looks right, click Submit in the black banner. Your score is calculated immediately using the same engine that scores paying clients. Sectioned review with Edit buttons and submit banner Step 6: Read your score — and what it couldn't assess You'll land on your results page: a Strategic Health Score gauge with an overall rating, plus one card per pillar with its own score and color band (red needs attention, amber is developing, green is strong). Because you may have skipped optional fields, the page also includes an honest "What we couldn't assess — and why it matters" section listing anything you left blank or marked as not tracked — framed as findings, not gaps in your homework. If parts of your business couldn't be scored, you'll also see an option to talk a FORTIS advisor through your blind spots; if you filled everything in, you'll go straight to the free-trial path. Click any pillar card to open its detail view. "What This Pillar Measures" is fully readable. The sections below it are blurred with a lock: that analysis is real and already generated for your data, but reserved for full accounts. Results page with score gauge, pillar cards, and the unassessed section Pillar modal with blurred locked sections Step 7: Claim your full report Enter your email in the "Get Your Full Report + 14-Day Free Trial" panel and click Start Free Trial. We'll email you a sign-in link — click it and finish the short onboarding. Your assessment attaches to the new account automatically and becomes your first month's submission — you'll never re-enter it: the full report, unblurred and with every pillar deep-dive unlocked, will be waiting on your dashboard. The 14-day trial starts from the moment you create the account. No card required. ❗ Important — The sign-in link goes to the email you enter Use an inbox you can access. The link works once and expires in 24 hours.
Tracking Performance (KPIs, Decisions, Flags) 👤Read Your KPI Tracking Page
The KPI Tracking page breaks down the numbers behind your scores into individual performance indicators — your financial results, your organizational health, and your operational excellence. It's where you go to see the specific metrics driving your dashboard, organized into clear groups. 💡 Tip — Who can use this Available to all clients. Find it under KPI Tracking in the left-hand menu. Quick reference | Step | Action | |------|--------| | 1 | Read your KPIs across the three groups | Step 1 — Read your KPIs Click KPI Tracking in the sidebar. The page organizes your metrics into three sections, each with cards showing the current value and how it compares to the previous period. The KPI Tracking page with metric cards grouped by category The three groups are: - Financial Performance — Total Revenue (against your target), Gross Profit Margin, Operating Cash Balance, and Monthly Recurring Revenue. Each card shows the value plus a period-over-period change. - Organizational Health — Total Headcount, a New Hires vs Departures split, and your Employee Engagement score. - Operational Excellence — Revenue Targets Met (as a progress gauge), Customer Acquisition, Customer Churn, and Delivery On-Time, plus an advisory note from your partner when there's operational commentary. 📝 Note — This page is read-only You don't enter data here. The numbers come from what you submit each month on the Submit Data page. To update a KPI, submit your data for the period — the KPI page refreshes to reflect it. 💡 Tip — Switch periods to compare Use the period selector in the header to view a different month. The KPIs update to show that period's submitted values, so you can track how a metric has moved over time.
Your Dashboard & Scores 👤Tour the Executive Overview
The Executive Overview is your home base in Fortis Pulse — the page you land on when you sign in. It brings together your overall health score, your pillar performance, your advisory team, and the actions your advisor has flagged for you, all in one place. This tour walks you through what's on it. 💡 Tip — Who can use this Available to all clients. Sign in and you'll land here automatically. Quick reference | Step | Action | |------|--------| | 1 | Read the full Executive Overview | | 2 | Explore the pillars grid | Step 1 — The Executive Overview at a glance When you sign in, you land on the Executive Overview. It's organized into sections that flow top to bottom. The full Executive Overview dashboard Here's what you'll see, from top to bottom: - Critical Alert banner (when active) — flags any red flags that need immediate executive attention, with a count of active amber and red flags. - Strategic Health Score — a large circular gauge showing your overall composite score (0–100), with a trajectory label and a note if you have partial or missing data this period. - Next Session, Delivery Compliance, and Partner Engagement — at-a-glance cards for your upcoming meeting, whether you're on track with your reporting cadence, and how your advisory partners rate engagement. - FORTIS Framework Pillars — a grid of cards, one per pillar (see Step 2). - Your Advisory Team — the partners assigned to you, with their lead/AI badges. - Action Items — tasks your advisor has flagged for you, each with an Acknowledge button to mark it done. 💡 Tip — Everything is tied to a period The data you see is for the period shown in the header (for example, "July 2026"). Use the period selector in the top-right corner to view a different month. Each period reflects only the data submitted for that month. Step 2 — Explore the pillars grid Scroll to the FORTIS Framework Pillars section. You'll see a card for each scored area — Focus, Operations, Results, Transformation, Intelligence, and Systems — each with its current score and a one-line description of what it measures. The pillars grid with a card per scored area Tap any pillar card to open its detail view. There you'll see what the pillar measures, your score with its health band, the specific metrics driving that score this period, and (on most tiers) a button to generate an AI deep-dive analysis of that pillar. ⚠️ Warning — Scores need submitted data A pillar shows "No data" if you haven't submitted the metrics it depends on for the period. To get a complete picture, submit your monthly data first.
FAQ & Troubleshooting 👤"Where is my advisory commentary?"
If you've submitted your data but your Advisory Commentary page shows "analysis in progress" or appears empty, your advisory hasn't been published for that period yet. Here's why that happens and what to expect. 💡 Tip — Who can use this Relevant to all clients. Quick reference | Cause | What to do | |-------|------------| | Your partner hasn't published yet | Wait — they review before publishing | | You're viewing an empty period | Submit data for it first | | Pulse AI is still analyzing | Give it a few minutes after submitting | Why your advisory might not be visible Your partner publishes it manually (most common). On most plans, when you submit data, Pulse AI drafts an advisory analysis, but it goes to your partner as a draft — not to you. Your partner reviews the draft, adjusts the scores and commentary, and then publishes the period. Until they publish, you won't see the advisory. This is by design: it lets your advisor shape the narrative before you see it. You're viewing a period with no data. Advisory commentary only exists for periods you've submitted data for. If you switch the period selector to a month you haven't reported on yet, there's nothing to show. Check that the period in the header is one you've submitted. Pulse AI is still analyzing. Right after you submit a new period, Pulse AI runs an analysis pass. If you check immediately, you may see an "analysis in progress" notice. Give it a few minutes and refresh. What to do 1. Confirm the period in the header is one you've submitted. 2. Wait a reasonable time for your partner to review and publish — this is normally part of their regular cadence with you. 3. If it's been unusually long, message your partner through Messages to ask for an update on the period's publication. 📝 Note — Trial plans see AI advisory immediately If you're on a Trial plan, the Pulse AI advisory is published automatically and you should see it shortly after submitting. Paid plans route it through your partner first.
Account & Billing 👤Managing Your Account Settings
Your Settings page holds everything you can change about your Fortis Pulse account: your organization's profile, your contact details, and your usage & billing. This guide walks through each section. 💡 Tip — Who can use this Available to all clients. Sign in, then click Settings in the left-hand menu. Quick reference | Step | Action | |------|--------| | 1 | View your Profile (read-only company profile) | | 2 | Edit your contact details on the Account tab | | 3 | Check your plan, balance, and usage on Usage & Billing | Step 1 — The Profile tab (read-only) When you open Settings, the Profile tab shows first. It displays the information captured when your organization was set up — industry, business stage, team size, revenue range, reporting cadence, top challenges, and your priority advisory domains. The Settings Profile tab showing company profile fields 📝 Note — Company profile is managed by your advisor This section is read-only to keep it consistent across your engagement. If something here needs updating, contact your advisory partner. Step 2 — The Account tab (your contact details) Click the Account tab to update how your advisor reaches you. The Account tab with editable contact fields You can edit your Contact Name, Email, Phone, Company Address, Monthly Revenue Target, and Gross Profit Margin Target (%). Edit any field, then click Save Changes — you'll see a green confirmation that your contact details were saved. 📝 Note — Currency is locked Currency is set during onboarding and managed by your advisory partner — contact them to change it. Step 3 — The Usage & Billing tab Click Usage & Billing to see everything about your subscription and usage. The Usage & Billing tab showing plan, balance, and usage Here you can: - View your plan and subscription status (renewal date, any past-due notice). - Check your token balance — the credit used for AI features. - Top up your balance or set up Auto-Recharge when it runs low. - Upgrade your plan to a higher tier (if not firm-sponsored). - Review usage this period — tokens used, cost, and per-feature counts. - Browse transactions and your full payment history. ⚠️ Warning — On a firm-sponsored plan? If your advisory firm manages your billing, you'll see a "Plan Managed by Your Firm" notice instead of upgrade options. Top-ups and plan changes are handled through your firm.
Pulse AI 👤Understand Pulse AI
Pulse AI is the built-in assistant that turns your dashboard data into plain, actionable insight. It studies the metrics and flags you've submitted and writes analysis in natural language — so instead of staring at numbers, you get a narrative read on what's driving your scores and what to do about it. This guide introduces the different ways Pulse AI shows up across Fortis Pulse. 💡 Tip — Who can use this Pulse AI features are available to clients on most tiers, with deeper analysis on higher plans. AI interactions draw from your token balance. Quick reference | Surface | What it does | |---------|--------------| | Executive briefing | An auto-generated overview of your period | | Pillar deep-dive | A written analysis of any single pillar | | Copilot chat | Ask questions about your dashboard | | Auto-advisory | Drafts advisory commentary for your partner | Where you'll meet Pulse AI Pulse AI isn't one screen — it appears in several places, each tailored to a different question: Executive briefing. When you open the Copilot drawer (the floating Ask Pulse button on your dashboard), an executive briefing appears at the top — a short, AI-written summary of how your period is shaping up. You can refresh it to regenerate. Pillar deep-dive. Open any pillar card on your Executive Overview and click Generate Pulse AI Deep-Dive. Pulse AI writes a focused analysis of what's driving that pillar's score, grounded in your actual submitted metrics. (See our dedicated deep-dive guide for the full flow.) Copilot chat. The Copilot drawer also has a chat where you can ask questions about your dashboard in plain language — for example, "Why is my Transformation score low?" You can save a helpful chat to your Messages to revisit later. (See our Copilot chat guide.) Auto-advisory (behind the scenes). When you submit data, Pulse AI can draft advisory commentary for your partner to review and publish. On some plans you'll see this immediately; on others your partner publishes it before you see it. 📝 Note — AI uses your token balance Most Pulse AI interactions cost tokens, which draw from your balance or your tier's included quota. You can check your usage and top up under Settings → Usage & Billing. The auto-advisory draft is a platform service and doesn't cost you tokens. 💡 Tip — AI output is cached Once generated, a briefing or deep-dive is saved for the period — reopening it shows the same analysis until you regenerate. This keeps your costs predictable and the results stable.
