Logging a strategic decision in the Decision Tracker takes a few fields and helps Fortis Pulse measure your decision velocity. This guide covers adding one.

💡 Tip — Who can use this Available to all clients, on the Decision Tracker.

Quick reference

Step Action
1 Fill in the decision form and save

Step 1 — Add a decision

On the Decision Tracker, click New Decision. A form opens. Fill in:

  • Decision Description (required) — what's being decided.
  • Strategic Classification — the category or pillar it relates to.
  • Executive Owner (required) — who's accountable.
  • Current Status — Pending, In Progress, Implemented, or Abandoned.
  • Deadline (required) — when it should be decided or implemented.

Click Save (or the equivalent) to add it to your list. The new decision appears immediately and starts counting toward your decision velocity.

📝 Note — Owners drive accountability The Executive Owner field is who's responsible for the decision. Choosing a clear owner helps track it and feeds the velocity metrics. Pick the person actually accountable, not just a department.

💡 Tip — Log decisions as they happen For the most useful velocity tracking, log decisions close to when they're made rather than in batches later. Real-time logging gives you an accurate picture of how quickly your organization decides.
