Pulse Connect lets you plug your Fortis Pulse data into the tools you already use — AI assistants like Claude or ChatGPT, dashboards, and spreadsheets. You create an API key in Settings, give it exactly the permissions it needs, and use it to pull your health scores, KPI trends, and decision log — or to ask Pulse AI questions — from anywhere.
💡 Tip — Who can use this Available on Executive and Partner plans (the platform team can enable other plans). Your plan's normal AI usage limits apply when you use Ask Pulse through a key.
Quick reference
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Open Settings → API Keys |
| 2 | Create a key with a name and scopes |
| 3 | Copy the key — shown only once |
| 4 | Plug it into your AI assistant or tool |
| 5 | Revoke keys you no longer use |
Step 1: Open Settings → API Keys
From the left-hand menu, click Settings, then select the API Keys tab. If you don't see the tab, your plan doesn't include API access yet — the tab explains what to do.

Step 2: Create a key with a name and scopes
Click Create API Key. Give the key a recognizable name (like "Claude on my laptop") and choose its scopes — what the key is allowed to do:
| Scope | What it allows |
|---|---|
| Scores | Read health scores and pillar results |
| KPIs | Read financial, people, and operational metrics |
| Flags | Read diagnostic flags |
| Decisions (read) | Read the decision log |
| Decisions (write) | Add decisions to the log |
| Ask Pulse | Ask Pulse AI questions (uses your plan's AI allowance) |
| Profile | Read company profile details |
The Read-only preset is selected by default — a safe choice for dashboards and reporting. Only add Decisions (write) or Ask Pulse if your tool needs them.

Step 3: Copy the key — shown only once
When you create the key, the full key is displayed one time only. Copy it and store it somewhere safe (a password manager is ideal). If you lose it, you can't retrieve it — you'll revoke the old key and create a new one.

❗ Important — Treat your key like a password Anyone with the key can read (or write, depending on scopes) your Pulse data. Never paste it into emails, screenshots, or shared documents. If a key leaks, revoke it immediately and create a fresh one.
Step 4: Plug it into your AI assistant or tool
Your key works with any tool that accepts a Bearer token.
AI assistants (MCP): assistants that support remote MCP servers connect directly. Point the assistant at https://app.fortispulse.com/api/mcp with an Authorization header containing your key:
{
"mcpServers": {
"fortis-pulse": {
"type": "http",
"url": "https://app.fortispulse.com/api/mcp",
"headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer fpk_YOUR_KEY_HERE" }
}
}
}
Once connected you can say things like "list my Pulse workspaces", "how did the Focus pillar trend this quarter?", or "log a decision: renew the office lease".
Dashboards and developers (REST): the same key calls the Pulse Data API, e.g. GET https://app.fortispulse.com/api/connect/v1/workspaces with the header Authorization: Bearer fpk_.... Scores, KPIs, flags, and decisions each have their own endpoint — ask the platform team for the API reference.
📝 Note — Sensible limits protect your account Keys are rate-limited (reads ~60/minute, writes and Ask Pulse ~10/minute). If you exceed it you'll get a "rate_limited" response — wait a minute and retry. Ask Pulse responses follow your plan's AI allowance: if it's exhausted, the response will tell you.
Step 5: Revoke keys you no longer use
In the API Keys tab, each key has a Revoke button. Revoking takes effect immediately — the key stops working on the next request. Revoked keys stay in the list (shown as REVOKED) so you have a record of what existed. Do this whenever a tool is retired, a laptop is lost, or you suspect a key has leaked.
