If your advisory firm sponsors your Fortis Pulse account, your billing is managed by the firm rather than by you directly. This changes a few things in what you see and can do. This guide explains how firm-sponsored plans work.
💡 Tip — Who can use this For clients whose account is sponsored by an advisory firm.
Quick reference
| Aspect | Firm-sponsored | Direct |
|---|---|---|
| Who pays | Your firm | You |
| Upgrades | Through firm | Self-serve |
| Top-ups | Through firm | Self-serve |
How it works
When your account is firm-sponsored, your plan and billing are handled by your advisory firm. You'll see a "Plan Managed by Your Firm" notice on your Usage & Billing tab instead of the usual upgrade and top-up options.
What this means for you:
- Upgrades and plan changes go through your firm — contact them to adjust your tier.
- Token top-ups and auto-recharge are managed by the firm.
- Your usage is still tracked, so you can see what you've used, but the billing side is theirs.
📝 Note — You're excluded from the firm's platform revenue For accounting purposes, firm-sponsored clients are billed through the firm, so they don't appear in the platform's direct revenue figures. This is an internal distinction — it doesn't affect your experience of the product.
💡 Tip — Not sure if you're firm-sponsored? Check your Usage & Billing tab. If you see upgrade options and a top-up button, you're on a direct plan. If you see the "Plan Managed by Your Firm" notice, you're firm-sponsored. Contact your partner if you're unsure which applies.
